A Public Hearing for Land Use Bylaw Amendment #1647Q is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at 6:00PM. The amendment incorporates the provinces flood mapping into the flood damage reduction zone, and will permit discretionary shipping containers in Recreation & Parks Space.

This is a mandatory public hearing for a proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw.
The proposed amendment will Incorporate the updated flood mapping (available for viewing on floods.alberta.ca/) into the Flood Damage Reduction Overlay District (FDR). This specific Land Use zone is only applicable to properties that lay within the flood fringe boundaries identified on the flood hazard map.
It will also allowing permanent shipping containers in Recreation & Open Spaces. Previously shipping containers were prohibited, but Council has decided they would like to make them discretionary near playing fields for the benefit of sports clubs in Town with storage needs.
This public hearing can be attended in person, or online. (Zoom Link will be provided prior to the meeting).
Anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed bylaw can contact Jeff Shaw by phone (653-3366) or email no later than 4:00 pm. on June 24, 2025, and may be included on the agenda as a delegation. Both written, verbal, and virtual presentations may be given at the public hearing. Delegations will be given up to 15 minutes to speak at the public hearing, exclusive of time spend answering questions from Council
