NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF CARDSTON
IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
PROPOSED BYLAW NO. 1647Q
6:00 pm, June 24, 2025
Town of Cardston Council Chambers
PURSUANT to sections 216.4, 606, and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, the Council of the Town of Cardston in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider proposed Bylaw No. 1647Q, being a bylaw to amend Bylaw No. 1647, being the municipal land use bylaw.
THE PURPOSE of proposed Bylaw No. 1647Q is for the incorporation of updated flood mapping under the Flood Hazard Identification Program; corresponding updates to the Flood Damage Reduction Overlay District (FDR); the establishment of associated definitions; the addition of new development permit requirements for Lots 1-32, Block 1, Plan 161 0008; and providing for the opportunity for permanent Shipping Containers in the Recreation & Open Space (RO) Land Use District.
THEREFORE, TAKE NOTICE THAT a public hearing to consider the proposed Bylaw No. 1647Q will be held in the Town of Cardston Council Chambers at 6:00 pm. on June 24, 2025.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed bylaw should contact the Municipal Administrator no later than 4:00 pm. on June 24, 2025. Both written and verbal presentations may be given at the public hearing.
This public hearing may be attended virtually. Information on how to attend and participate in the meeting online is available on the Town website: www.cardston.ca/publichearing.
A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Town of Cardston municipal office during normal business hours.
