Golf Course – Irrigation Technician

Starting Date

                Weather Dependent – March 18th  - April -30, 2024

Duties

  1. Install, maintain and repair the golf course irrigation system, including sprinklers, valves, and controllers.
  2. Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules to ensure adequate water distribution while conserving resources.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with the irrigation system, such as leaks, clogs, or electrical malfunctions.
  4. Perform regular inspections of the system to identify potential problems and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  5. Collaborate with the Grounds Crew team to ensure proper irrigation coverage and healthy turf conditions.
  6. Assist in the installation and maintenance of drainage systems and water features on the golf course.
  7. Maintain accurate records of irrigation systems repairs, adjustments, and water usage.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe work environment.
  9. Assist with other grounds work as required.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience working as an Irrigation Technician on a golf course or in a similar role is preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, design, installation and maintenance.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with irrigation systems.
  4. Experience with the use of irrigation technology, such as computerized controllers.
  5. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  6. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend and perform manual labour tasks.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  8. Ability to work independently, as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  9. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  10. Possess good public relations and communication skills.
  11. Must be an honest, accountable, team playing individual that receives direction well.
  12. Grooming and dress standards will be required of the successful applicant

Hours

1 Position -(40-44 ) hours per week -The positions will be required to work on some weekends and holidays
