2020 Taxes

September 29 2020

Please be advised that September 30th, 2020 is the last date you can pay property taxes before the first penalty of the year is applied. The July 1st penalty of 8% was waived for the year of 2020 by Town Council in order to offer people some relief during the financial struggles presented at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. On October 1st, 2020 a 4% penalty will be applied to all outstanding balances. See below for payment options.

Ways to Pay

Pay at the Town Office

The Town Office accepts Interact, Cheque, Cash and Credit Card* for property tax payments. Tax payments by cheque can be deposited in the mailbox at the entrance to the Civic Centre.

*Credit Card payments are accepted using the OptionPay system. OptionPay collects a fee for the use of this service.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

Please be advised that the Town of Cardston does not provide online refunds or process cancellations for transactions made using OptionPay. Once you have consented to processing your credit card payment and remitted the associated load fee, the charge is irreversible. If you make a payment in error for whatever reason, you may be able to get a partial refund by visiting the Town office. The load fees however cannot and will not be refunded, as they are made directly to the OptionPay service.

Fee Schedule:

OptionPay works by charging the fees associated with making a credit card payment back to the individual making the transaction. OptionPay uses a tiered fee schedule with a minimum fee of $2.00. Click the button below to view the full fee schedule.
