Town Council attend Truth and Reconciliation Training with Blood Tribe.

On November 30th at the Blood Tribe Kainai Multi-purpose Centre in Standoff Alberta, Councillors from the Town of Cardston and Cardston County attended a Truth and Reconciliation Training course with Blackfoot Elder - Francis First Charger (Owl Chief - Ninnaisipistoo).

Owl Chief provides advisory services to various organizations and conducts Blackfoot Cultural Sensitivity Workshops and in working with other First Nations (Blackfoot People) and/or off-reserve corporations in the areas of international relations, culture, academic course development, agriculture, irrigation, project development, and project implementation.

The training included a history of Blackfoot people, prayers and blessings, the story of truth and reconciliation week, Blackfoot culture, traditions and values, and the path forward with truth and reconciliation. 

After completing the course each Councillor received a Certificate of Acknowledgement that they completed important training in the spirit of the TRC's Calls to Action.
