NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF CARDSTON
IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA

PROPOSED BYLAWS NO. 1573B & 1647S

6:00 PM, October 14, 2025, 2025
Town of Cardston Council Chambers

PURSUANT to sections 216.4, 606, and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, the Council of the Town of Cardston in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider:

  • proposed Bylaw No. 1573B, being a bylaw to amend Bylaw No. 1573, being the East Cardston Area Redevelopment Plan; and
  • proposed Bylaw No. 1647S, being a bylaw to amend Bylaw No. 1647, being the municipal
    Land Use Bylaw.

The purpose of Bylaw 1573B is to modify the design concept for Area A of the East Cardston Area Redevelopment Plan to facilitate the development of public/institutional and industrial uses on lands legally described as Lot 3, Block 38, Plan 781 1160; and Lot 15, Block 38,
Plan 111 2938. The modified design concept for Area A is illustrated in three new maps (Map 4.1, Map 5.1 and Map 6.1), which are intended to supplement the existing maps in the East Cardston Area Redevelopment Plan.

The purpose of Bylaw 1647S is to redesignate the lands legally described as:

  • portion of Lot 15, Block 38, Plan 1112938, as shown on Schedule ‘A’, from “Residential – R1” to “Public & Institutional – P”; and
  • portion of Lot 15, Block 38, Plan 1112938, as shown on Schedule ‘A’, from “Residential – R1” to “General Industrial – I1”

to implement the East Cardston Area Redevelopment Plan and facilitate the subdivision, development and use of the above-noted lands in compliance with the municipal Land Use Bylaw.

THEREFORE, TAKE NOTICE THAT a single public hearing to consider the proposed Bylaw No. 1573B and Bylaw No. 1647S will be held in the Town of Cardston Council Chambers at 6:00PM on October 14, 2025.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed bylaws should contact the Municipal Administrator no later than 12:00PM on October 10, 2025.  Both written and verbal presentations may be given at the public hearing.

This public hearing may be attended virtually. Information on how to attend and participate in the meeting online is available on the Town website: www.cardston.ca/publichearing.

A copy of the proposed bylaws may be inspected at the Town of Cardston municipal office during normal business hours.
