Personal Safety

Monday, February 4th, 7:00 pm. at the Civic Centre

Feel free to attend a friendly lecture hosted by Victim Services on personal safety including how criminals target you, what you can do to stay safe at home, in your car, out walking or when travelling. How to act when in public and what to watch for. The dos and don’ts with your purse and wallet and other little tips to keep you safe. If you are interested in your own personal safety for yourself or a loved one please attend this free informative presentation. All are welcome.

Seminal Lecturer, Dan Walton.

Dan Walton has previous experience as a police officer for 28 years including service with the Military Police and Metro Toronto Police, working in patrols, traffic, special operations unit, training section, diversity and community resources, crime prevention retiring as a sergeant with the Lethbridge Police Service in 2015. Dan has 20 years’ of instructing personal safety including Control tactics, Rape Aggression Defense Training and Basic Assault Safety Incident Control. Dan currently owns and operates his own business for the past 4 years, Savoy Six Advisor Group. He continues to provide training to government agencies on personal safety, hands on fighting techniques to women groups and survivors of sexual assault and stalking as well as security officers, and non-for-profit organizations, children and persons with disabilities security evaluations and safety inspections. His experiences included training in undercover work, surveillance and counter surveillance that bring a knowledgeable response when educating those concerned with their own personal safety.
