UPDATE - Jan 22nd:
The streets have been cleared of loose snow, but a Chinook has rolled in and now the roads are wet and glazed with ice. Town work crews are out in full force sanding slippery spots as quickly as reasonably possible. Please be cautious on the roads and report any trouble areas that require immediate attention to the Town office.
With the recent break in the weather, the town is now able to turn their attention from the priority 1 and 2 routes and focus on clearing the snow from the lower priority routes in town. [view priority route schedule]
The plows will be working all day today–Tuesday, Jan 19th–clearing the West Avenues (priority 3 routes), and some of the cul-de-sacs near 9th Ave (priority 4). Tomorrow–Wednesday, Jan 20th–the plows move over to the East side of town where they will clear all the roads. They will then return to the West side the following day–Thursday, Jan 21st–to finish the remaining Streets on the Westside.
The recent warm weather has softened the snow, creating a number of trouble spots. The town asks that residents please report these trouble spots to the town office so we may address them as soon as reasonably possible.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to clear all our roads, we understand the frustration winter causes drivers, especially when the snow continues to fall or blow and the lower priority routes don't get the attention we would prefer they received. Our emergency services and main arteries in and out of town take priority, when those routes are clear, we work as prudently as possible to ensure all our other roads are safe and drivable.
