Who is excited to see new pavement?!
As you are admiring the new pavement on 2nd Avenue West, please note that the paving process is not yet complete and the barricades will remain up as there has been an oil seal coat applied to the new asphalt. To allow the oil seal coat to cure, it needs to sit for at least 24 hours before there can be any traffic on the road. Because of this, the road will remain closed until at least Saturday afternoon (November 7th). Rest assured that we will remove the barricades at the earliest possibility, but the longevity of the pavement depends on adequate curing time for the seal coat. Driving on the seal coat will cause damage to both the road and to your vehicle. While it should go without saying, please do not drive on roads that are marked as "closed" until all barricades are removed.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we all look forward to having 2nd Avenue West open again!
Please call the Town Office if you have any questions.
